Dinah does it!

This movie is midlevel Neil Simon, but Dinah Manoff makes it worthwhile. Her character's devotion to her late grandmother is especially moving, and she wins the spunk award hands-down.

I agree that she's better than the movie actually is.

UGH.
She's awful. Loud and obnoxious. Film acting requires some realm of stillness, she's all over the place.
Not surprised at all that her film career went nowhere.
The only reason I kept watching was because of Walter Matthau, whom I adore.

She was in a lot of movies, 'Ordinary People', 'Grease' and I liked her in 'Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael.'

What was a little strange about this move for me is she had already played an adult who was married to Danny in the series 'Soap' in the '70s, which I used to watch all the time, and this was filmed in '82, I believe, so I was thinking she had to be at least 24 and not a teenager.
