Pathetic!

This is the worst film I've seen in ages. Despite it being made in 1981 I only saw it a few days ago. Just as well I recorded it so I could wizz through most of the drivel to see what happens in the end!

I saw it on TV a short while ago, and I watched it all the way through for the sole reason that it was just so laughably bad! It was dreadful!

Not that bad a film, compared to some drivel I've seen on the scifi channel with its really bad acting and amateurish CGI shots and no 'hot stuff'.

I never understand these people who, just because they disagree with you they personally attack you not even knowing anything about you. Now, I think that IS pathetic, sad even that people can't give their personal opinions without this immaturity.

Good reason to be pissed I suppose, when you're on your own. If people hate something then so be it, why should they hide that fact just to please you.

Yeah, I stayed up to watch it too, about halfway through it I thought to myself, clealrly this movie is meant to be on a similar concept to Alien... But it's no-where near is good.

The movie is moody, unlightened by bad humour and it seemed to drag... and drag... and drag on... Because halfway through it I thought to myself that I might as well stay up and see how it ends, but even the ending was predictable and unflattering for a movie this genre.

I you havem't watched it, I sincerely WOULD NOT recommend this film... Watch Aline on Ghosts of Mars by John Carpenter.

ALIEN is a movie that DRAGS, my friend. That movie is insanely boring and OVERRATED to the max. INSEMINOID is a sleaze-fueled classic that pulls no punches and isn't afraid to show unapologetically bleak scenes of intergalactic rape resulting in pregnant insanity. And the soundtrack was creepy as *beep* Synthisizers are cool, man. Inseminoid rocks!!

reply

too right.inseminoid is brilliant.

As hot as Stephanie Beacham may be.

I found myself pretty bored by this movie and don't think it really has too much to recommend it other than as a curiosity, and another opportunity to have a gawk at Stephanie Beacham.

I can usually sit right through any low-budget '80's B-movie, and actually consider a bunch of them my favorites, but this film was boring. I fell asleep at 50 minutes in, woke up to the lady giving birth, then fell back asleep. I remember Deep Space being more thrilling than this, and that movie sucked.

reply

C'mon, this isn't THAT boring. You want a boring 80s sci-fi check out CREATURE with Klaus Kinski. I love Klaus but man that movie is a DRAG. NOSTALGIADRAG THAT IS! HAHAHAAHAHAHAAAJHAHF

reply

What, Creature is awesome and never boring. I do believe Horror Planet is a pretty solid b-Sci-fi/horror flick.

reply

This is so much better than I expected. Of course, I had extremely low expectations. Give me a B-movie ripoff from the early '80s any day over any multi-million-dollar CGI extravaganza today. I still haven't seen "Avatar," and I have no desire to, but I'm drawn to films like "Inseminoid'/"Horror Planet."

My response:

Yeah, it was pretty bad and there was no excuse either. The eighties saw a renaissance of special effects movies and even low budget efforts managed to create some pretty impressive production design. So not only was "Horror Planet" derivative with bad writing and acting, but the audience was subjected to some really cheesy special effects. What a turkey!

I wondered why this movie floundered so badly with a pretty good cast, then I read the interview with the director. At first I thought he may have had a point to acussing the actors of sabotaging the film, then revalation occured---

The actors were telling the director how the plot line shoulda gone and how ppl woulda reacted normally in these situations , not with the sharpness of a bucket of ball bearings that was depicted, That was the directors doing, just as Lucas had too much control over the last 3 starwars movies this director did this movie in...

The cast could have adlibed a better movie but had to follow the great lords dictum as per medieval traditions dictates to produce the same kinda schloc that this person had in the past ... too bad a more open minded movie maker might have given this thing a chance...

I pity the poor actors and miss gleeson for having their faces in this movie , or any other body parts .... sure is funny in an incompetant way...

I remember seeing this on TV a while back, the most interesting thing about is that it was made two years after Alien but looks about twenty years older.

reply

It wasn't that bad. I've seen a lot worse. At least it wasn't boring which is the worst thing a film can be.
