SPOILER ALERT - Please help. Do we find out what is on the tape and why people have to die because of it? I just watched it and still don't understand all of that. Also at the very end the 2nd helicopter with the fat old cop - So he was there to arrest or kill them? What is supposed to happened next now that he and his goons have Michael in their custody?
You need to re-watch the film and listen to the dialogue. The tape had codes on it for some super weapon that is part of the millibar project. The guy in the second helicopter was the head of the national security directorate and not a sheriff, he was trying to find out who the traitor was that made the copy of the tape. The traitors were all on the first helicopter and died when it blew up, Michael would have been cleared as he basically found the traitor for the government guy who knew he did not kill the woman in the hotel.
