does anyone know where i can find an uncut, region one dvd of this film? i am trying to collect all 74 video nasties. i need 27 more and this is one of the ones that i am having a difficult time locating.

As far as i know there is ONLY a german DVD.. excellent quality.. BUT only in German language.

I think you're getting this confused with Anthropophagus, Tuff.

Absurd has not been released on DVD anywhere, there are rights issues that are yet to be ironed out. You can only get a DVD-R that is nothing more than a straight VHS transfer.

Still, it's worth picking up (easy to find cheap on ebay too), as it's a decent little slasher, if you like your flicks cheap and nasty :)

actually there IS a german dvd of anthropaphagus 2, uncut and in widescreen. The only audio option is in german unfortunately. It also has a documentary on d'amatos other films, also in german.
It is released by ASTRO dvd, and in some spots the quality drops severely.
Unless you are hellbound and determined to have anthropophagus 2 on dvd, I'd stick with the Monster Hunter vhs until someone releases it in a better looking print.

There has been an italian version released, apart from the bad dubbing its really good

There is a uncut region free version of this flick, available at stumpydisks. It's a copy but you will have the whole uncut flick

You should avoid the German DVD at all costs, I own it: the image quality is very poor (extremely dark, incredibly pale colours, non-anamorphic). It obviously was transferred from a VHS Tape, and that's what it looks like. The Film isn't good either, but it might be some sort of "Baddie" amusement in decent quality - because all the gore still doesn't make it a worthwhile film...

It screened on the MGM channel in New Zealand uncut. It really is a bona fide "video nasty".

check diabolikdvd.com and midnight1.com they both carry it as well as most of the video nasties from the banned collection your wanting

Do you know the stats for this release and the extras if any?Just to have it uncut in anamorphic widescreen would be enough though.

On June 30th, they're releasing "Rosso sangue" under the title, "Horrible" by MYA.
