Anyone Find it Funny How Quickly Jason Became Popular?

In the first movie, Jason wasn't the killer. In the 2nd movie, he had a sack over his head. It wasn't until halfway through the 3rd movie where he finally gets his mask and becomes an iconic character. So, for half of the 3rd movie and all of the 4th movie, (which is only a movie and a half), Jason became extremely popular and iconic with that hockey mask. He wasn't iconic at all after the first 2 movies. And then they were ready to end it after Part 4 when Jason only had the mask for a movie and a half.

I just always found that funny how quickly he became so popular.

It was the hockey mask. We thought it ended with Friday 2 back in the day. Jason would have been another slasher kind of like Cropsy in The Burning.

The hockey mask made Jason iconic.

In the 1st film, Jason and his mom were the killers. She lied about his death obviously since he was alive and well in part 2

He was also a tall, lanky hillbilly looking dude in Part II

I love these Friday movies but damn, the continuity is way off in every one

Even the camp looks totally different every time...there was a ranch in Part III, nobody ever mentioned a ranch!

I don't think the location of part III is supposed to be the same place. It's just near the camp in the original. Part III features some college age people on vacation, not camp counsellors.

edit: It's called Higgen's Haven. It's the childhood home of the final girl, Chris Higgens.
