Everyone who claims to love the film: Sign this petition!

I have loved this film for years and really wanted to show it to my 5 yr old son. He LOVES Dragons/ Wizards, etc, as many boys do!

I was amazed to find out that it wasn't for sale on DVD!?! It has such a HUGE fanbase with everyone asking "when is it going to be released?", "why hasn't it been released?". Thankfully, someone had the bright idea of sending a petition to W.B.

So I am utterly amazed to find out that I am only the 32CND PERSON to sign it!

As magical as the film is, it's not going to release itself on DVD.

49th. I really don't understand why this didn't make it to DVD either. Everything else did (The Hobbit, the Last Unicorn, Watership Down and all of the other Rankin/Bass movies). As far as the petition goes, not too many people know that it's there. I only just found out when I read your post (good thing I did).

You sound like chapters from a self-help booklet! Prepare yourselves!

55 baby. Thanks for pointing out this petition.

It is totally amazing to me that this hasn't already been released - virtually everything else has. Surely if there's a market for nostalgia DVDs of Chorlton And The Wheelies, Transformers (even before the movie!), Thundercats, Ulysses 31 and God only knows what else, they have to realise that this is worth the effort?

Does anyone know much would it cost to release a DVD, and how many people it would take to buy it to make it worthwhile profitwise?

Oh, yes, if a pig comes by Castle Dracula on a Tuesday, playing a banjo…

As great as a DVD would be, you can still find the entire film on Youtube in ten-minute increments.

I found a rather nice quality VHS to DVD transfer of it on Bittorrent too!

I have 4 kids that grew up watching the VHS of this film and they ask to this day when it will come out on DVD. And they are ranged 16 to 23 now. It's a fun film that has a story worth retelling. I hope they release it on DVD. Sign me up for at least 5 copies so I can get them to my children.

I'm the 68th person to sign. This movie SHOULD be on DVD!

70th signature from muggins here. I strongly suspect some form of creators' rights or something might be stopping this film from being released in the DVD format. Hopefully, with enough signatures and on-line presence we might be able to get this film re-released in a decent format.

Heck, I am known as Ommadon on IRC :)

Anyone else with me in saying this is one of the few select films one must watch on Christmas day? :)

It's to the point that I almost want to make my own remake. A computer animated remake would be awesome! Not that I'm talented enough to do so.

#112 First saw it when I was around three years old. I'm twenty five now, and it's still one of my favorites.

I watch it at least once a year without fail. still fantastic! only problem with my copy, that i must of recorded off the telly is that the sound and picture go really bad at the end, so i miss the last few lines. sucks. I NEED IT ON DVD! if its released on blu-ray then i'll go out and buy a player!
