Burden of Dream is a documentary - Fitzcarraldo is a film.

Burden of Dreams was excellent, but Fitzcarraldo is a masterpiece. If i was stranded on a deserted island and could choose one Herzog or one Kinski film, it would be Fitzcarraldo.

I remember either Siskel or Ebert having both Fitzcaraldo and Burden of Dreams on their top 10 list that year.

I must agree. The Burden of Dreams includes everything that is in Fitzcarraldo - the dragging of the boat, the journey through jungle, Klaus Kinski - plus it has the additional layer of being real life. Seeing Werner Herzog on screen is also worth something. Why watch Fitzcarraldo, when you can watch Burden of Dreams? Ideally, you should watch both, of course. That's what I did.
