It was a movie about a PTSD afflicted Green Beret Vietnam Vet who was walking through a small all white town in Washington State to look have dinner. He was walking through the town and he was approached by the Sheriff who asked him if he was lost.

He asked Rambo to jump in the car so he can can give him a ride. Rambo asked if there is any place he can eat. The Sheriff said there is diner 5 miles up the road. Rambo read in between the lines and knew that he was being profiled as a stragalone drifter. Rambo why are your pushing, I haven't done anything to do. Sheriff goes off and says we don't like people like you in this town. He drives him up to exit side of town.

Rambo walks back into the town cause he wanted something to eat and Sheriff drive back up and arrested him.

The point being he went off after being mistreated and had undiagnosed PTSD. He injured and went to war with the entire town squad. He eventually turned himself in with pleading from his army officer mentor.

In the book he was commited into asylum in the movie he was arrested but he was not given no strict penalties.

He died in the book he didn’t go to an asylum. And First Blood was about more than just police brutality , it’s about how we as a country treated returning vets (not well) , it’s not glorifying war it’s just about showing respect to those who are brave enough to go and fight in a war
