What kind of anti-American unpatriotic commie bastard is the sheriff?

"You know wearing that flag on that jacket, looking the way you do, you're asking for trouble around here, friend."

Is that some kind of general slight on the patriotism of people living near ultra-liberal Portland in general, or is this guy just some special breed of America-hating pu$$y?

He's wearing THAT FLAG and THOSE FATIGUES because he's a goddamned soldier who fought for this country, which is more than I can say for your overpaid pompous fat ass, you stinking crypto-fascist commie douchebag. How about some f@cking respect for our honored soldiers, you little c0cks@cking prick?

And yes, of course, I'm entirely kidding. But really, what kind of thing is that to say to a vet? Come on!

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

I'm not sure that Teasle knew Rambo was a vet. He certainly didn't know he was a Congressional Medal Of Honor winner. For all he knew, Rambo picked up that jacket in a second hand store or more likely, stole it.

Teasle had an image of an American soldier being clean shaven, short haired, well spoken, and neatly dressed. Rambo was none of those. Teasle was unaware that bravery and heroism comes in many forms.

It is bad to drink Jobus rum. Very bad.

Teasle was prejudice against Vietnam vets though. You can tell he is when he says after Mitch says he should let the state police handle Rambo, "Galt has been murdered by that psycho! I'm going to take that congregational medal of honor and pin it to his liver!" Only a prejudice jerk would say something like that. Also I'm pretty sure that helicopter pilot would've told Teasle at some point that Galt tried to kill Rambo and also threatened to kill him when he objected to what he was doing. And just the fact that Teasle is buddies with this psycho trigger happy jerk does not make him look like a good person at all.

Honestly after reading the book I hate the way Teasle is portrayed in the movie. They turned a compassionate sympathetic character into a stinking no good evil jerk!

It is to drive the plot. Teasle with feelings would not have worked. Classic case of insane anti-hero vet vs. heroic law officer stopping the madman from killing more people while we feel weak for the misunderstood anti-hero.

Lets remember, this was probably the end of the "anti-hero" insane Vietnam vet movie era.

No. It's because Sylvester Stallone and the other writers had no respect for the novel.

The thing is Teassel was a Korean War vet when he sits at his desk you can see his silver star medle for service !!! Don't tell me you didn't see it !!! Tut tut tut well I think he was being a pia to are hero here was because when Teasel returned from war everyone was patting them on the back saying well done boys your Heros so they were bold as brass but when Vietnam was a different ball game with TV involed and media coverage people made there own minds up and there were a lot of people that didn't agree with the war that's why there were protesters at the airports when the boys returned calling them baby killers ect so I think Rambo felt betrayed by his country a little and anyone people in athorghty full stop so that's why he didn't want to cooperate with teasel

Teasle wasn't anti American he was anti Vietnam vet. He was a Korean War vet, so he had an axe to grind. He thought this is a typical Vietnam vet, dirty and sloppy.

Which makes you want him to die even more at the end.
