star wars? come on! for me the movie was about redemption Gant couldn't save the little girl in Viet Nam but stealing the firefox save lot of lives in the free countries.

shareIf I recall correctly, Gant was recovering from an flashback episode after losing control of the airplane. He was a bit mixed up and forgot to think in Russian, then he remembered it, and this was just a way to let us know what was thinking in his head.
I always thought Kenobi was telling Luke what to do in the moment, that Luke wasn't remembering. Luke looks around in his cockpit like someone is talking to him. Gant was just remembering.
And yeah, it was great to see Kenneth Colley in a much bigger role.
