'Who Dares Wins' - Remake?

With the British Movie Industry on the up, what do people think the likelyhood a remake, but this time with a better script, is?

I Would like to see a remake with Sean Bean or Matthew McFayden in the Lewis Collins' Role, and maybe have Lewis Collins in the Woodward role for a touch of Nostalgia.

reply

What is it with remakes. There is nothing wrong with the way this film is and nobody could replace Lewis Collins

reply

i agree theres is 2mant remakes going around . WDW is best left as it is

reply

No remake, but I would like to see a sequal of sorts. And have plnty of my favorite gazzelle helicopters in it like the first.

Please excuse me if I don't think life is all tea, and biscuits

reply

Westland Scouts not Gazelles, see one here http://www.hmfriends.org.uk/hd05scoutbig.htm
Agreed, leave the remake alone, all that ever happens is thew original film gets totally cocked-up!

reply

I was sure that they were Gazelles, didn't they have the rather unique turbine fan built inside the tail of the helicopter?

Bugger! I'll have to watch it again now to see ;)

reply

Nope, definitely Scout's, lovely little choppers

reply

They are Westland Scouts. The Gazelle is a very different looking helicopter.

reply

I totally agree with you there! By the way i like your name. Very cool!!!

reply

Sacrilige. If u had Spielberg as director and George Clooney as the star backed up by a 200 mill budget you'd still not be able to rival possibly the greatest British film of the last 30 years.

reply

Give it five years or so and they'll make a remake. You mark my words!

Im not saying you are ugly but you couldnt pull a ligament!

reply

Please, please don't let WDW fall victim to the spreading outbreak of Remakeitis. It is a wonderful example of a very British kind of film and yes, it has dated, but that's part of it's Charm

No re-makes please!

I Love this movie (it was "Final Option" over here in the states). It had such a 60's feel to it and it was very British- the best kind of movies. Plus, too cool to have Richard Widmark in it, and I do Love Judy Davis.

Lewis Collins. What can I say- the man was great in the movie and I, too, thought he would be an excellent Bond.

Yeah, Leave this one alone, put please it out on DVD.

reply

it is out on dvd. you can pick it up for about £4 anywhere in the UK.

You're probably right, but Who Dares Wins sure as hell ain't the best British film of the last 30 years. It's not even the best British film of 1982, not by a long chalk (see Gandhi, The Draughtsman's Contract et al.)

There's only 1 person who can do this and that's Jason statham,
