BEST ACTION SEQUENCE EVER

i honestly admit though 90% of the movies was boring , the SAS rescue act was shown superbly , with choppers landing on top on the roof & dropping off the commandos with great detail , the last 15 min was great . the last 15 minutes + Great soundtrack in the background can be rated 9/10 , what do you guys say about it, i admired and greatly praise other Special Forces action movies like.

1. Black hawk down.
2. Tears Of the SUN.
3. Shooter .
4. The Rock .
5. Rambo .
6. SWAT .
etc etc

any other movies you guys like to recommend?

I like Black Hawk Down for what it is, but it seemed over dramatized. Style wise it's like a giant TV 30-second spot. Still a good movie though.

Tears of the Sun is a remake of another film.

Rambo is junk.

SWAT... didn't waste my money.

The Rock was shot locally where I live during Fleet Week... have yet to see it, but it strikes me as being another moronic actioner.

FYI, the Blues fly over SF and along the water front from Pier 39 to Chrissy Fields and the Golden Gate bridge.

"with choppers landing on top on the roof & dropping off the commandos with great detail"

I haven't seen the film in ages, but I had the impression the soldiers were actually being swung through the windows by the helicopters - the editing's a bit choppy, but it doesn't look as if they're just being dropped off.

But, yes, it's the best part of the film. Looks a bit tame nowadays but after a long build-up it works well as a climax and has a kind of brutal efficiency that was novel at the time.

If the producers had really been on top of their game they would have put one action sequence at the beginning and one half-way through; three good scenes, no bad ones. And then had a chase after the final action scene.

The bank heist in Heat is the best action sequence ever and very realistic. The heists in The Town and The Sweeney Aren't bad either. Who Dares Wins is pants except for the last 15 minutes which is outstanding. Basically the Iranian Embassy rescue dramatised.

It's certainly a great sequence, and even today i get chills watching it.

Love the bit where the terrorist is on the first floor landing and an SAS soldier slides down a rope blowing him away as he passes him!

Stanley Kubrick was apparently very impressed with the sequence.

Was it a millionaire who said "Imagine no possessions"?

I highly rate the raid on the farm at the end of the original "Straw Dogs". It had my heart racing.
