Ordering a pizza while in class still makes me lol

That scene is so freakin funny everytime I see it

Oh I think it is just hilarious!!! It's my favorite part.

and Negron nails it as the Pizza guy.

It's a great scene. When I was in school, I always said I would try the same thing before I graduated but never had the guts, haha.

reply

I figured it might be hard to do that stunt today but always wondered if it would work back in 1981 when security in schools was very lax and teachers did have food delivered.

reply

Haha, it would be awesome to try. I graduated 20 years later, but we had an open-campus; a delivery in school would have been entirely possible. I would think of this scene from time to time when I'd use my cellphone in class to call in a take-out order for the local burger joint so my food when be ready when I'd pick it up at the lunch break. (So many kids went there at lunch, so without calling ahead, the wait was brutal. Fortunately, cells were uncommon, so no one called in an order but me!) That's as close as I got to trying this epic move!

Add: Just remembered... beginning of senior year, a pizza place opened up shop by the burger joint--both a block from the school--and I'd propose to friends we try "a Spicoli." Nobody was on board, so lunch was always gotten (mostly) on the up-and-up.

I recall a few times we had pizza parties in our class, but for whatever reason, they couldn't order it from an outside restaurant. The pizza had to be supplied by the school cafeteria, which was positively the worst pizza I've ever had in my life.

reply

I remember being at work, and having the pizza guy show up asking for someone. It was a coworker who had ordered pizza at lunch time...I always thought of this scene when that happened. And now, it's as easy as pie to order from a smart phone app.

reply

Thats odd. The best pizza I ever had was from my schools cafeterias. In fact, our schools cafeteria served some of the best meals I ever had

I agree, but my favorite is the scene where Brad, as a "representative of Captain Hook's Fish and Chips," is on his way to a delivery. And in pulling up next to some chick in a Corvette(?) who he thought, that she thought, that he was cool realizes that he's decked out in his work uniform and with the chick speeding off as though he were some sort of dork, starts chuckin' his delivery out the window; with Joe Walsh's, Waffle Stomp playing in the scene. Not to mention when Spicoli wrecks Jefferson's car; the football game and both coupled with Sammy Hagar's and Billy Squier's. Actually IMO the entire soundtrack was particularly fitting.

I gave it an "8" for the 80's for nostalgic sake ...

Desmond: That kid's been stoned since the third grade.

LOL! I feel so bad now! I just knew she looked familiar! I must be gettin' old ... Yes, the last time I saw her was at CalJam II Ontario Motor Speedway ... back in the day :)

Yeah but you had to feel bad for Spicoli when Hand gave all his pizza away.

reply

Nope. Not at all. I've always hated stoners and losers like him. It is one thing to smoke pot, it is another to embrace the stereotype of being a stoner.

reply

So funny, in 2005 , a student in my class actually ordered a pizza lol .. I forgot how that started but the teacher didn't care ! She was really cool and nice and the delivery guy came to the window ( it faces the street) lol

This thread is making me hungry!

I brought lemonade to college class and the fat girl drank all of it!

Spoiler alert for them spoil sports out there! Y'all like spoiled milk, stop crying over it!

The reason it is so funny is because the teacher is a Martian. Sure, people call him My Favorite Martian but still he is a Martian.
