Did anyone feel bad for Brad when he'd gotten fired?

I did because the customer was the one who started being a jerk towards him, I don't blame Brad for going off on him, plus Brad was a good employee.

While I agree that the firing is justified I totally see where Brad is coming from. A human being can only take so much before snapping like that after all. I mean he's a cook, he never interacts with customers and and if he did he probably would have handled the situation better.

The customer on the other hand was a complete tool and deserved to be told off in that situation. I mean he told him they have to fill out a form but he kept pushing and pushing. He's the same kind of jerk who bitches out a server when their steak is medium instead of medium rare.

I am on brads side, even if the customer called Dennis's supervisor, they would close up because of some idiot,,

Only thing is, brad should have kicked his butt in the parking lot, brad would have got off.. ha ha

Yes, working in a job that deals with the public daily gets old after awhile, there have been several times where I just wanted to say forget this and walk off the job. Kinda like how that reporter in Alaska did when she did the stories on Marijuana and revealed that she was a co-owner of that place before legalization.

As someone who works w/ the general public I can most certainly sympathize w/ Brad (ironically, I hear Reinhold is a real A-hole in real life). There are "predators" who seek out public servants/ppl servers just to unload on or harrass. Even "nice ppl" do this. "Servers are 'desposable ppl'". Why not! But I also can sympathize, somewhat, w/ the customer! Servers today are THE WORST!!! Even older 1s can be quite irrespectful. If Brad was being these things, the customer HAD EVERY RIGHT blasted on him. However, in this case, Brad's mgr. s/d've simply pretended 2 fire Brad in front of the a$$hole customer and then give Brad an hour brake 2 walk it off, smell the roses.

My entire career was in retail. These types of customers are more common than you think. You do the best you can. I do thank God that the company I worked for did not tolerate abuse of their associates. I witness managers kick customers out of our store for insulting or yelling at associates who were only doing their jobs.

When I finally earned keys to the store, I kicked several out as well. While we were expected to make of log of the incident, I never heard of anyone getting into trouble for kicking out jerks.

Good for you and your bosses. Back when my family had a small business, I tossed several.

reply

No, he was better off.

reply

Yeah I felt bad for him. Dennis seemed like a tool, only coming out of his office after things got way out of hand. Typical mgmt BS. I wish it would’ve shown Brad letting the air out of his tires, then finding where the customer worked and screwing him over somehow. But Brad ended up alright.

I've always said that Brad should've just went and got Dennis Taylor right away. How hard is it to say, "Hold on sir, I'll get my manager and you can talk to him about this?" It was obvious Dennis Taylor was there. Brad looked all confused. At a job like that, you are told to get the manager if you don't know the answer.

Brad was a good employee? I disagree. Brad was self serving to the point that it made him unreliable. Let's review:

1.Brad lied to his girlfriend then he tried to continue arguing instead of watching over his friend whom he was supposed to be training which allowed the food burn.
2. The customer was rude but Brad clearly escalated the situation and, instead of accepting responsibility for his actions, he passed blame on to his friend.
3.Then on his next job, Brad got annoyed because he had to wear his uniform to a delivery. What did Brad do? He took it out on the customer and ate their food, didn't like the taste, so he dumped it all out on to the road.

OP might have based that statement on Brad having been awarded Employee of the Month: https://i.imgur.com/JMrmc74.jpg

If the customer really did have to fill out a form to get his money back, that's all Brad should've said and then ignored the customer after that. No matter how much the customer whines and bitches and moans, you just ignore them or tell them to leave. If he kept screaming, "give me my money back!" Brad should've just said, "sorry sir, not doing it."

I once worked a retail job where someone didn't ave ID for cigarettes and I said, "Sorry, if you don't have ID, I can't sell them to you. I could get fired." The customer stayed in the store for about 20 mins just standing there and complaining. After a while I ignored them and started cleaning stuff around the store. I eventually said, "I'm stuck here for 8 hours, but I'm getting paid for it. You're welcome to stand here for 8 hours if you want to without getting paid." They eventually left lol
