IF i were brad i would have - - - - -

Put my little hand back in the cash register and gave that guy his $2.75 cents back! and been done with it. dennis may never even have known it , and I would have told dennis that it says 100% guaranteed so I put the customer first and gave him his money back. Brad would have maybe just got a little scolding but that's as far as it would have went if it even went that far.

reply

Brad should have just got Dennis Taylor. It's obvious Dennis was in the store, as evidenced by him showing up to the register.

reply

Actually,Brad should have hopped over the counter and kicked one hundred percent of that, bald headed, douche bag's ass.

reply

I'm with you there. That douchebag was just begging for an ass whipping.

reply

And the beautiful thing about it would have been that back in those days, Brad would have pretty much have gotten away with it. He would have gotten a slap on the wrist at most and lost his job.

reply

That's true you're right about that. I don't think it would've affected the story in a negative way plus I bet most viewers would've cheered for that!

reply

Yeah, but when they cheer for him he becomes a hero and it lessens his "loser" status when he gets caught and lessens his "hero" status when he stops the hold-up.

reply

Ok that's a good point

reply

That w/d have come in the prkg lot when the guy was on his way to his car! With a baseball bat.

reply

I'd like 2 say that that scene is 1 of the most memorable scenes in the movie. But basically the whole movie is great scene after great scene.

reply

Yeah, it was bullshit, but refund the money or get the boss.

reply

I agree he should had just got Dennis and let him sort it out.

It's that man again!!

Brad tried to get Dennis. The SOB was trying force him to do it without the manager.

reply

He should have pointed out that the sign only said "100% guaranteed breakfast." It didn't say anything about it having to be the "best breakfast (the customer) ever had," which was the basis of the customer's complaint in the first place. A lot of places won't even give you your money back; if you're dissatisfied, they'll offer to replace it or give you a card for a complimentary meal. But even that might have limitations.

Or, what he could have told the customer: "I'm sorry, sir, that your breakfast was undercooked. If I had been working the grill as I should have been, it would have been the best breakfast you ever had. Unfortunately, some rookie was at the grill while I was assigned to scrub the graffiti in the bathroom."

reply

Exactly. That douchebag of a customer was just trying to get a free meal. He ends up getting the free breakfast and the employee fired.....then has the nerve to look all smug about it. What a cheap creep.

Brad should have gotten Dennis to come and help or at least offer him some sort of discount/coupon. But the whole point is for him to get worked up and threaten the customer which of course is the absolute worst thing he could have done.

At least Brad pointed out that the customer actually ate most of it. If the breakfast was under-cooked, you're not gonna keep eating it. It's obvious the customer was lying for a freebie.

reply

Yes! And that would have zapped all the drama out of the movie and made it boring and unwatchable. Why didn't the filmmakers think of that?

reply

I sometimes wonder what would have happened to Brad if Dennis had witnessed him dealing with the difficult customer, if I were Brad I would have called for Dennis to come over and ask what can I do to make it better for the customer.

reply

The bald guy simply wasn't worth it. Brad screwed himself. Then he blamed Arnold.

reply

It's impossible for a guy with anywhere near a normal level of testosterone and self respect to put up with a petty, insulting douchebag without getting pissed off. What he should have done was told the guy to go fuck himself, and stood up to him physically if he wanted to do something about it. Back in the early '80s, menial minimum-wage jobs were easy to come by.
