Question about a scene in the Criterion Blu-ray

So I finally got around to buying this film on Blu-ray. For the most part it looks great, but I was sruck by the fact that the scene where Alexander envisions the procession in the desert (just after Isak has read his story about the forests and springs in the 5 hour version) has this overly bright, washed out quality to the image - sort of like an overexposed photograph. In the DVD I have, the scene looks like any of the others. That's the version I suppose I'm used to by now.

Has anyone else noticed this? What is the way it's supposed to look like? Thank you.

So... no one else has noticed the difference in the image or can tell me why this is?

It's only in that particular scene. Everything is so bright and the colors seem washed out.

I didn't notice.
