Add this to your list of October Halloween scare movies

October is Halloween month and it's the month where lots of people watch spooky movies, not the slasher kind, but the more traditional spook and scare movies are the most fun as the sun sets sooner, darkness falls earlier, the evenings and nights become cooler and darker. It's the time to light some logs in the fireplace and gather around the television dvd player.

Many traditional old-time spooky movies have luckily transferred to dvd disk.

Add this rendition of, THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, to your October Halloween spooky movie list. It has all the elements of a good one; large, gloomy mansion, hidden, secret, dark passageways, long-buried secrets, and a truly scary psycho prowling the hallways long after dark. But there's no distracting gore or blood, just good old fashioned, jump-out-of-your-skin scares.

I read that a lot of critics didn't like this made-for-television renditon of Edgar Allen Poe's classic tale. I thoroughly disagree. Only if you are looking for another, Friday the 13th, will you be disappointed. This movie was made for tv and obviously had to be PG-13. It's still terrific viewing with your family, friends, or fraternity/sorority chums with lots of popcorn, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and maybe pizza to munch on.
