Apparenttly it is either by the woods that attack them (Cheryl and Scotty), the Evil Force (Shelly and Ash) and by inflicting wounds (Linda). But why wasn´t Ash possessed when he was spilled with the blood from the Deadites? Or Scotty when Shelly scratched him?
shareThere's no "rules" as to how they possess.
One could say they "wear down" their victims before they try to possess. It has nothing to do with "infecting" (that's zombies) via wounds, blood, etc.
More a physical/psychological tiring of the victim to lower their tolerance first, then they possess.
And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

It´s an interesting idea. Sometimes the Evil Force seems to be only playing with the characters (specially Ash), before giving the final blow.

It's just one demon. The Kandarian Demon. "He" can possess more people at once.
Ash was stronger for some uncertain reason.
