Yeah right... that terrible Copy/Paste moon alone brings it down to a 4...
I actually love this movie don't get me wrong, it's a guilty pleasure, but it's so over scored imo. This movie is only good because of how bad it is, yet it has such a high score for a sloppily made b movie.

shareDepends on YOUR ratings system. To many, this is quintessential Horror. It's not classic in the sense of a Stanley Kubrick or Scorsese film but it is in many other ways. The way Raimi pulled this all together with a budget of Jack *beep* and by fighting tooth and nail for every scene is admirable. He also was as innovative as they come. It's amazing this even got made... Oh, and it's Creepy as *beep*

The feat of making it might be impressive, notable, or worth celebrating. But the movie itself is still bad.

I think The Evil Dead is a good film and most of the problems come from the budget. You just have to see what Raimi can do with money to see that he already made it without it.
