The alien was friendly. If aliens did come to Earth, they certainly would be very hostile. Not to mention, this movie ripped off Meatballs part 2

How do you know if Aliens would be hostile , you met one ? on how did this rip off Meatballs 2, that movie was released in 1984, ET was released in 1982, im sure you know this but for some strange reason you act stupid for attention.

My bad on the Meatballs error. I got confused with the original Meatballs which came out in 1979

Well, count me in. I've never thought very highly of it, even in 1982 when it premiered. I don't dislike it, but its just a mediocre kids movie. The first and last ten minutes are quite good, though. Spielberg has done much better movies. Close Encounters of the Third Kind was an alien movie for grown-ups.

Ooh, now I want an alternate ending. The other aliens usher ET up the ramp into the ship. When he's stowed away and safe, one of them waddles halfway down the ramp with a small handheld device and liquefies Elliot, Gerty and the rest of the gang.

Very vivid. I'd like to see that too. I wonder why 'Family Guy' never did a cut sequence with something like that in mind.

In every encounter between technologically advanced cultures and less-advanced cultures, the more-advanced culture has overwhelmed and subjugated the less-advanced one. If aliens come to Earth and don't do that, it will be the first time in history it doesn't happen.
