Music put me off

I kinda ate overwhelming wall to wall music even if I like the actual piece, but in this instance I have to say the music was just too intrusive for my liking and put me off the movie. I must not finish about 1 in 500 films (even though i dislike many, i think i must have a little OCD) so this is really rare. Anyone else really hate the music???

The music is not meant to be intrusive but designed to be in the foreground of the action. Its function is the same as characters, scenery, props, lighting etc. so that the score is integral to each scene and not present merely to decorate, enhance or suggest, or heighten moods. It took repeated viewings and a little reading up to appreciate how to access the essences of this film, and over thirty years ago it was the first major feature I'd seen that asks us to engage in other ways than conventionally consuming what's on screen in a passive way.
