Perfect double-bill with 'Beautiful Girls'

These complement one another extremely well. They're easily the two best movies about the gripes and aimleslessness confronted by people in their mid-to-late 20s. The characters in Beautiful Girls are probably a few years older, which makes it a perfect transition.

They both feature a male returning to an upstate, snowbound town circa the holidays, boast great soundtracks, and are carried by smart writing and excellent ensemble casts.

Ideal "winter drinking" films to be enjoyed with close friends. I cherish them both.

Great suggestion. I really enjoy both films. It's a hot 90 degree day in May as I write this. I'm gonna make a mental note to schedule a double feature of these films this winter. Maybe kick back with a fine scotch and a cigar and take it all in.

I'd say that Nobody's Fool, with Paul Newman, may even make for an exquisite triple feature

Be sure to return to this thread and let me (us) know how that experience went for ya

Nobody's fool - another enjoyable film. Now I know what three movies I'm watching during the first snow storm this winter.
