Region 4 DVD

The Region 4 (Australian) DVD was released in 2003 and the format is anamorphic widescreen. I own the region 1 fullscreen disc, but I have a region-free player now and I'm considering a double-dip for the proper aspect ratio. I hate the fullscreen format in general, although I don't get the feeling that much of importance is missing on the fullscreen version of Deathtrap. The film does have somewhat of a claustrophobic feeling to it, but that may be a result of its limited settings. Does anyone own the region 4 DVD? Funny that Warner Brothers would release this DVD in its proper format all the way around the world and not here in the USA, where the film was produced.?. Oh well, maybe we'll get a restored, anamorphic widescreen R1 release for the film's 25th anniversary next year. Warner Brothers, are you listening? A commentary would be nice, too. I doubt Michael Caine would participate, given his (ridiculous) regret of agreeing to the kissing scene. However, it would be cool to hear what Dyan Cannon, Sidney Lumet and/or Ira Levin might have to say.

Do you know where I could find it online at that price?

reply

Not online, at that price mostly the actual retailers sell them.

These sell it for a reasonable price...

Try this link:

These people will ship overseas, and it's only $3.92 at the moment. (That's about £1 !!)
I have a copy of this release, and have confirmed on my equipment that the disc is dual-coded for regions 2 and 4.

Enjoy !!
