Miklos Rozsa

One thing I treasure from DMDWP is the music score by Miklos Rozsa who had scored many of the films from which the clips were taken. He worked on precious few comedies, this, along with Adam's Rib which he also scored seriously except for using "Farewell Amanda". Perhaps the funniest cue I ever heard is "Cleaning Woman" which segues from the frantic electronic music as Rigby strangles Juliet, then becomes poignant as he explains to her why he went cuckoo. To me, that's sheer genius.

I adore the music in this movie. Rozsa's main theme is ridiculously lush and perfect for the overwrought film-noir/goofball comedy combo that is this movie. And so beautifully orchestrated----just watch those closing credits, with the timing of the emphases in the music with the movement in the clips of the various classic silver screen actors.

Oh yes, Rozsa's music was always great, especially in The Strange Love of Martha Ivers.

Rozsa is obiviously having a lot of fun in "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" basically poking fun at a style of film music..the classic film noir score...that he pretty much created.
