6.8? Jeeeez

Ridonculous.

Maybe it's 'old guy' talk, but I thought of this today on hearing of the (almost) simultaneous deaths of Robin Williams and Lauren Bacall. (For some reason, the juxtaposition of comedy and noir brought this to mind.)

This thing has aged very well. In fact, I think more of it -now- than I did when it came out.

At least an 8. Swung for the seats and for the most part, scores big.

I really enjoyed it and rated it an 8.

10 plus in my book!

I also give it a solid 8, its a very fun movie.

I think it's the kind of movie that is perfect entertainment that doesn't necessarily get a great IMDB score. I'd want to give it a 10 for pure enjoyment but I'd probably feel silly for rating it like it was The Godfather. It's one of my Top 10 all-time favorites, though, and those are all 10s to me.

I feel that way about Death To Smoochy.

It's no Citizen Kane, but to me, it's not just a 'guilty pleasure'. Some movies ain't Shakespeare, but they have a craft and greatness that belong in its own category.

Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement... Listen, kid, we're all in it together.

Definitely a 7, for Carl Reiner, Rachel Ward, and Rozsa's final score. Whoever seemlessly edited in all the old clips should have won an award.
