I did not realise there was 2 series i thought there was only 1 series of 26 episodes
It should be second volume not series. The complete collection is all 4 dvd volumes. Amazing price if you ask me!

I have no idea; I'm as confused as you. All the episode guides that I can find online say there were 26 episodes made in 1981 and all those are in the 4 disc "Complete Collection" boxset (hence not "Season 1 boxset").

This shows a second series of 26 episodes was made in 1990, but does not list any episode names. It'd be very helpful if anyone out there had a list of episode names included in the 2nd Season boxset.
I think the only way to resolve this, is to buy the 2nd season boxset. Bit steep at nearly double the price of the original boxset though...

Ok after actually seeing the series two boxset in a shop to my astonishment i bought it.
Ive only watched the first episode so far but apparently its set 10 years after dogtanian becomes a musketeer, hes married juilliet and now has children!
The animation is slightly different and to my dissapointment some characters have new voices. Even the theme tune is really changed now with guitars!
I cant find any information about this series on the net!
The second series was rubbish in my opinion. I saw it on CITV back in 1990 and hated it. It ruins the magic of the original.
