Did this ever air in America?

I never heard about it until today. It looks like there was an English dub, but I never saw it, and believe me I watched TV all the time in the 80s because let's be honest, without internet what else was there to do, so I'm sure I would've seen it. Seems like a neat show, though I've only seen two episodes on Youtube so far.

It isn't listed here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083780/releaseinfo, but the voice actors in the English dub are all American which would be a strange choice if it wasn't intended to be shown in America.
