Incredible Music

Doesn't 6.6 seem like way too low a rating? You could make an argument for this being the greatest anthology horror film of all-time. Also, the musical score for this movie is amazing - does anyone else find themselves humming the music to themselves, even all these years later? It's very hard to find a movie that can make you do that!

I have the movie's theme on my iTunes/iPod. It's part of a playlist I have of scary music.

The soundtrack to Creepshow was written and performed by composer John Harrison, a longtime collaborator of Romero's. And you're right, it IS phenomenal with it's creepy and spooky themes. Immediately after Creepshow, Harrison composed the soundtrack for Romero's next film, "Day Of The Dead". Even though many people dislike "Day", feeling it to be inferior in the "Dead" series, it's my belief that "Day" has the best soundtrack, thanks to Harrison's work. As with "Creepshow", "Day" is replete with edgy, piano-driven themes, and tempered with much more subtle melodies intended to lull the viewer into a state of calm, until the next on screen shock clobbers them. If you like the "Creepshow" soundtrack, I strongly advise you to give a listen to the "Day" soundtrack to really get an idea of what John Harrison can do.

I gave this film a 10. I consider it to be a perfect film and I think you're right about it being the best anthology horror film ever made. As for the musical score, I think it's absolutely wonderful. It fits the mood of the film perfectly and the right music is used in the right moments of the film. It adds to the atmosphere very well.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

I've always loved the music in Creepshow. Unfortunately I don't think the soundtrack CD includes all the music in the film. If memory serves me right there was a lot of good music missing on it from the "Something to Tide You Over" segment.

Yeah, the score is great. One of the best of 80's horror.
