I've been thinking....

I've seen this movie a lot. And just now it dawned on me. After watching it today of course. In the Crate episode. Probably the smartest episode in the movie. Reason being. Is it scary that there's a crated monster under the stairs at Amberson Hall from the 19th century from an Artic expedition that would kill anyone or the fact that 2 friends Stanley and Henry cover up Billy's murder? Hard to say. Terror both ways.

Better yet two respectable professors of Amberson Hall do that that. Not your average joes

I'm not sure how criminal investigations worked back then, but I think trying to get rid of the creature and dispose of the evidence was probably a bad idea. With Billie's disappearance it might be hard not to suspect Henry. There's no body of course, and apparently no evidence of foul play, but his life would probably be ruined because everyone around him would suspect him of being a murderer, regardless of what Dexter says or what's actually proven.

Contacting the police might have led to more deaths, but if they were lucky they could have gunned down the creature and had its body to support the fact it devoured the others. Henry would just need a story to explain why Billie was there.

Ha

Today they'd be caught if there was an investigation I'm betting. Forensics are amazing

But back then they were not as advanced

And yet people less educated and dull get away with murder all the time.

Better yet what I was trying to say was... was the creature bad or Henry and Dexter?

The thing I always thought about 'The Crate' episode was:

Maybe, just maybe, there never was a monster, and Henry and the Professor were serial killers. The monster was just some sort of sick figment of their twisted minds, and crutch to use while they lured, and murdered people.

Just a thought...
