is the daughter supposed to be? Is she a teenager or an adult? I always thought she was supposed to be an adult, which, while it's still awful he raped her, would make it slightly less creepy than if she was some teenager. either way, this movie freaked me out a bit.

I would say in her late teens - she is an undergraduate student.
shareI'd say early 20s by the time of the story. From circumstantial evidence I'd say she was around 19 at the time of the accident, maybe 20, so 21-23 during the story.
