One of My 80's Faves

This 'forgotten' flick is a classic from the 80's IMO and music by Ry Cooder with a title song by Freddy Fender, Jack Nicholson, Harvey Keitel, Warren Oates. A solid performance from Valerie Perrine as well. Am taping it off 'Cinemax' but would love the DVD. Seems more relevant today with all the crud going on down at our Border.

It is an interesting piece; some humor, some 'realism'. The Ry Cooder music is good, as are the songs.

Nichson's first-rate acting held this film together; he really makes you care about Charlie's deep-seated need to do something decent in a rotten world.
