I'm not satisfied with the Final Cut.

I want the fucker line back in.

I want all errors be put back in, stupid things like fixing Zhora's face on the polaroid, who cares?

I want the stuntwoman put back IN, the fixing of the head with Joanna Cassidy looks fake as hell.

I want all extra footage ELIMINATED including Tyrell's exploding eyes.

I want the dove flying away footage eliminated ENTIRELY. The original footage and the massively fake, Alien/H.R. Giger looking digital scene.

I don't understand these guys, in charge of gazillion dollar projects and they still don't know what works and what doesn't?

reply

Agreed
Totally bullshit like the orig Star Wars films...stop tinkering with classics assholes

reply

Totally. It's just wrong. I don't even know why this film had any mistakes in the first place. Recycled footage?? I know the happy ending was mandated by the studio but discarded footage from The Shining?? One of the most famous films of all time?? So lame.

The original footage and the massively fake, Alien/H.R. Giger looking digital scene.

What bit is that?

reply

when the dove flies away.

reply

How does that look like Alien/Giger?

reply

the background kinda looks like biomechanical.

reply

on what the Final Cut or original?

reply

final cut.

reply

rewatched the versions - theres nothing Gigerish in that dove flight bit in final cut? they are just dark buildings/BR skyline. the Final Cut is FAR superior to the original 82 cut (and the 1992 Directors cut) where its just some ordinary warehouse building as if its on some Pinewood set and its morning all of a sudden.

there is a Giger/biomechanical Alien like building when Batty saves Deckard and hoists him up - which is in all versions

reply

Of course the original scene in question is atrocious but the CGI is too bad on the final cut, I don't understand why that insert had to happen in the first place, one clearly sees the dove escaping Roy's hand, if the metaphorical flying dove shot wasn't working since the first cut, why include it in the first place? I don't get it.

Also, after he visits the snake guy, the shot of the street and the dancers in the glass tube totally DESTROYS the flow of the scene. How on EARTH can they not see this?
