Thats what a Ferrari cost in 1983? Wow. I could afford that.

He was referring to what it costed at the time his first child was born.

More like 1965 or so. This film was from 1983, Enis was 11. $17,000.00 in 1965 is worth almost $115,000.00 in 2008 dollars, $108,000.00 in '67, $36,000.00 in 1983.
