shareThe Sword-and-Sorcery fantasy genre does not get much general respect, though it is far and away my favorite narrative format. I think many dismiss it out of hand and never look into its charms; yet many of these same people will go apeshit over a tale of Superman going up against a magical antagonist against whom his superpowers are useless, like Mr. Mxyezptlk. And let’s face it: Star Wars is Sword and Sorcery to advantage dress’d. The Jedi powers? The light sabers? C’mon.
People just look down their noses at impossibly fit heroes and heroines running around in animal skins, thrusting with enormous phallic symbols. Y’know, the kind of hero who can slice those elevated noses clean off in a heartbeat.
That's definitely an insult for this fantastic, hugely entertaining movie. At least it's up to 6.2 now. I'd say it should be at least a 7. I give it an 8. This movie was huge for a good 10 years straight!!
