Got mine today. Only had a look at the first film so far, but I reckon it's the same transfer that's on the US Blu-ray. They seem identical to me.

Had a look at Basket Case 2. It looks very nice: the image is detailed and has natural grain. I wouldn't be surprised if it was taken from the same HD master that Synapse used for their US DVD release last year, but obviously the new UK Blu-ray is an improvement over that DVD release because it's in HD.

I've skipped through Basket Case 3. It looks pretty good, but in some of the scenes there's a slight softness to the image - which may be due to DNR or it could simply be the way the film was shot and lit. Nevertheless, it's a huge improvement over the DVDs I've seen. (Bearing in mind that I haven't seen the new Synapse DVD of Basket Case 3.)

In all, I'm very pleased with this set and would recommend it to any fan of the films. It's not a bad price, either.

cool thanks for that mate i was rather reluctant to buy this set as a few months back i did get the US disk and the Synapse dvd of 2 and got the old uk dvd that had 2 and 3 on it as it was cheaper than buying just 3 lol but it sounds like a solid release so i may pick it up in the near futer

i wasn't expecting much from 3 image wise but it sounds to be ok its not my fave basket case film by a long shot but still fun

dose 2 and 3 have commentary tracks and what are the sound mixes like are thay mono stereo DTS

thanks again

Discs 2 and 3 are barebones, sadly. All the extras are on disc one, with the first film.

I think the audio on the discs is DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 mono, but when I get home on Monday I'll check and tell you for sure.

I'm really impressed with how all three films brushed up for the blu ray set, particularly as the only previously available versions in the UK were fullscreen.
