Recently, I've been trying to collect most of Pacino's movies. I really wanted to buy "The Panic in Needle Park", but have had trouble finding it. Amazon has a deal where I can buy "The Panic in Needle Park" with "Author! Author!" and save money. I've never seen this movie, but really wanted to because Pacino is rarely in comedies.
How likable is this movie? Is it worth buying if I haven't seen it?
Totally likable. And one of the perfect transition films from high whiny voiced Al Pacino (Dog Day Afternoon) and deep scary voiced Al (nowadays).
shareIt depends on what type of films you like and TBH I'm surprised many people don't like this film. I just watched it yesterday and I plan on watching it again, I really really LOVE this film! This and Bobby Deerfield are one of my favorite films of Al and sadly, it is very underrated. I suggest you buy it, if it is so horrendous that you would like to get rid of it, pm me, maybe I can buy it from you, I still don't have the film and would like to get my hands on it.
His role here reminded me of Dog Day Afternoon, I hope that helps with your decision.
