What happened to all the other orphans?

At the beginning during the HardKnock Life song, there looks to be about 50 girls in the orphanage, but at the end there's only like 7 or 8 ~when they were locked in the closet. What happened to all the others?

Create a society in which you would like to live, not knowing what you're going to come into it as.

I had the movie book and regular book growing up. They both mentioned what happens to the orphans the same way. I have not read either in a very long time. At leave 25yrs or more.

At the very end of I think the movie book Anmie asked Daddy Warbucks to adopt Molly. He also assured her would find homes for all the orphans.

As for the book I remember the same ending but not sure if it is mentioned he will adopt Molly or not.

He didn't adopt them but he made sure the orphanage had enough money to take care of the children. He also helped with their adoptions and if they aged out (Turned 18) he helped them get jobs.

He arranged for friends to adopt them. (Annie: An Old fashioned Story; based on musical)

I had the movie book and according to it, he had his rich friends all adopt Annie's friends. Not sure about the rest of the orphans though.

I don't think the OP was asking what happened to the orphans at the end of the movie but during the course of the movie. As the OP pointed out, at the beginning, during "The Hard-Knock Life," there seems to be dozens, but by the time they're all confined in the little room, there are only a handful. So, to reiterate OP's query, what happened to the others?

reply

Not just in the closet scene. If you notice at the end of Hard Knock Life, when Annie flips into the laundry basket, the room is full of orphans. About TWO SECONDS later, Miss Hannigan enters the room and all those orphans are suddenly GONE! Only the main six are left standing there lol

they just weren't focused on like the main girls were, they were background fodder
