Why was Sandy the dog given a girl's name?!?!
He's a boy dog and should have a boy's name.
I've never heard of a boy named Sandy lol.

Why not crush that gender binary to bits?
It always seemed a bit silly to me that one's name, title, etc should be dictated by one's crotch. :/
Like what part of the dog's male biology forbids him from being named "Sandy"?
Also did you know the social construct of gender changes over time? Like before around the turn of the century PINK was considered a boy's color and BLUE a girls color.
Red was a color associated with masculinity, strength, etc... and since pink is just a soft red, pink was used to signify baby boys.... While blue was seen as a softer, more delecate color and was used to signify baby girls. This is why many of the Disney princesses wear blue so often. So since this was the 30s things could have been different/
Sandy can be a male or female name. There was a famous baseball player in the 60's named Sandy Colfax (I think that was his last name). Ashley, Carol, Shelby, Sydney, Shannon, Kim, Pat, Robin are all names that can be male or female. Back then people didn't know what gender they were having until the baby was born so parents would select names that could be used either way.
"The end of the shoelace is called the...IT DOESN'T MATTER!"
Sandy for this dog derives for the sandy hair, as "seems made of sand" Sandy was not a name girl... originally, it was a nick name short for Sandra...is like saying Becky is a name, it is a short for Rebecca...Many nicknames has become names nowadays..Like Pete, Mike, Bill, Liz, Maggy, Kat. et cetera, but they were not originally names.
Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?
"It's not female. It's unisex." –Sandy Patterson (Jason Bateman), Identity Thief.
The first person I ever met named Sandy was a guy (short for Alexander.) Then when I met a girl named Sandy I thought, "Why does she have a boy's name?"
If you're from Scotland and you're known as Sandy, you're more likely to be male than female.
