I'd like to offer a few corrections/clarifications to juergen's post of Aug 24, 2006, based on my viewing the 120-minute version of the movie. Tamara (Xuxa's character) is not assigned to have sex with the boy Hugo, but actually with one of the visiting authorities, Dr. Benicio. When Tamara attempts to seduce Hugo, he has been in bed with his pajamas on. She unbuttons his shirt, but when she is lying naked on top of him, he is not naked--his pants are still on and the bed covers are between her and him. There is a scene when the boy and a woman are naked together (the photos on the interney.net site) but it is the character of Anna, his mother (Vera Fischer) who he is with, and if you watch the scene carefully, there is no real full-body contact shown--most of the shots are shoulders and up, and when it is a full-body shot, the boy is curled up in a type of fetal-position, lying to her side.

There is another scene during Hugo's masturbation/fantasy scene, in which he fantasizes that all the woman of the brothel are with him in bed. There is a shot of a (presumably) young naked male lying on top of a naked woman, but you only see the male from behind, and it is possible that it could be a double.

It is important to remember that these people are acting. When a scene of violence is portrayed, such as a fight or a shooting, we know that no matter how real it looks, they are not really fighting and no one is really being shot. In the same way, sex scenes are staged, and we know that they are not really having sex (porn excepted), and with careful editing, the creators are able to make nice illusions.

I, for one, would be interested in reading/hearing Marcelo Ribeiro's recollections of making that movie. I would like to know what he thought of it at the time and any clarifications he can make as to the making of it. Does anyone know if he has ever publicly shared his experiences?
