During the family fighting scene when the father melted down because he thought the children wrote 'dishonor thy father, PIGS!' on the wall and started his rampage, did you notice the lights in the house were fading in and out?

YOu know, I did notice that several years ago when I first watched this and I was thinking "how in the hell did they just let that slide". I guess it was to show that even though odd things were happening, the family did not notice it because they were too busy being at each other's throat, which they probably always did even before stepping foot in Amityville. The house only intensified things.
