This isn't ZAZ!?

I thought Airplane II: The Sequel was a ZAZ movie, then I go on here and find out some Ken guy made this movie! They sure fooled me! Oh well, it's still very funny. I just hope that eventually ZAZ decides to make Airplane III.

No, the ZAZ folks refused to do a sequel, so Paramount made it without them. Big mistake.

During a interview with the ZAZ team, someone asked them if they were going to go see Airplane 2.

One of them responded, "If your daughter grew up to become a prositute, would you go watch her work?"

But then I think I personally would have taken steps to make sure she didn't grow up to be a prostitute. They washed their hands of her, they can't complain about what she became. If they didn't want to risk a sequel they should have tried to keep the rights. They didn't keep the rights, and they were offered the sequel and turned it down, that to me says they have nothing to complain about.

The sequel was good though so hopefully one day they will appreciate that the crew that took over actually made a pretty decent job of it.

None of the ZAZ team have actually seen Airplane 2, which i think shows how against a sequel they actually were.

ZAZ have a clear case of hoist by their own petard !!

Airplane 2 IS funny and whilst recycles most of the jokes from Airplane 1 , does contain the 2 best sight gags EVER (even better that A1)

I'm talking of course about the Vacuum and the Shatner monitor gag

On the commentary for A1 they clearly state they were holding out for $$$ to do a sequel

Do ZAZ really expect us to beleive that they have never seen A2??? Get a grip boyz :)

Acutally on the AIRPLANE 1 Commentary they mention that they exhaused all their jokes about "disaster on a plane" so they didn't have any real ideas for a sequal.

I think they kept making NAKED GUN sequals because they put a lot of different parodies in those films and not just about old cop shows and detective movies.
The A.P. movie was all the "plane" disaster movies they could do joke about I guess.
