Trivia section....what the hell?

What's with the IMDb trivia section for this movie? It's heap of irrelevant "data", far-fetched connections, Captain Obvious-type statements, and so on. Who wrote this, and why administration don't have more restrictive approach to putting informations in these sections?
Here's some examples from trivia page:

Many movie posters for the picture featured a preamble that read: "The boys are back in town. Nick Nolte is a cop. Eddie Murphy is a convict. They couldn't have liked each other less. They couldn't have needed each other more. And the last place they ever expected to be is on the same side. Even for... 48 HRS."

A road sign on a street lamp-post in this Eddie Murphy movie reads "EDDY".

The film's actual title is spelled with two abbreviations "48Hrs.". The "48" is in number form whilst "Hrs" abbreviates for the word "Hours". The actual title also has no space between these separate word abbreviations which in long hand would spell out either as "48 Hours" or "Forty-eight Hours".

In addition to actor Sonny Landham playing "Billy Bear" in this film and "Billy" in the movie _Predator (1987)_, as previously noted, both characters also display very large Bowie style knives while shirtless during the film.

One of two 1982 movies starring actor Nick Nolte whose other film released that year was Cannery Row (1982). Also, one of two 1982 movies starring actress Annette O'Toole whose other film released that year was Cat People (1982).

The meaning and relevance of the film's "48 Hours" title is that it refers to the amount of time the two central characters have to catch two cop-killers, the two day period representing the amount of time that the cop is allowed to have the con on a furlough out of prison.

The movie's MacGuffin was a bag of money. The amount of cash in it was US $500,000 but referred to this was referred to as being "half a million" in the movie.

During the course of this 48 Hrs. (1982) film a neon light sign can be seen which reads "24 HRS".

A shot in the film's trailer reveals a scene not featured in the actual movie.

It's seems like only aim is to have as much additions to trivia section as possible, regardless how (i)irrelevant they are.

My favorite one was the "$500,000/half a million". I like to imagine some moron reading that after decades of wondering, thinking "So that's what it meant!"

LOL Yeah pretty useless.

Lose the Game!!!!!!!

Agree...most were stupid and unnecessary.

The trivia section used to be great until they started letting everyone post pointless trivia. I'm surprised no one has posted.. "48 Hours can also be written as Forty-Eight Hours". That's the kind of crap that's posted these days.
