Shaun the Sheep Movie - Young Ones reference?

This may be a long shot, but when I heard this in the movie, I immediately thought of The Young Ones. When the pigs in the movie are trying desperately to clean up the farmhouse in a hurry, the opening instrumental bars of 'House of Fun' by Madness are playing.

I'm probably reaching on this one, but the only other place I've ever heard the song was on The Young Ones. Was it a bigger hit in England? As far as I know, 'Our House' is the best-known Madness song in the U.S.

I've not seen Shaun... but in answer to your question 'House of Fun' was massive in England back in the day as was The Young Ones.

That makes sense. It wasn't a callback to 'The Young Ones,' but it was a callback to 'House of Fun,' which most English adults would remember as a big hit. Thanks for the info.
