I just started watching this on Netflix with MY kids, and the S1E1 episode doesn't seem like it's the first one. I remember an episode where the 3 friends meet and no one knows each other's identity yet.

There's a scene where Iceman and Firestar are both shaking hands with Spidey, and he's chilling him while she's warming him; Spidey thinks he has a fever or something. Then later they decide to move into Aunt May's together and setup the 'spidey lab' and escape route, etc.

Anyone else remember this?

Yep, I remember that episode as well. There was a Spiderman series in '81 that was separate from this one, but which kinda led into this one. Wonder if it was some sort of transitional episode? I saw it when Disney XD was showing all the Marvel cartoons late nights. Lately, my kids and I have been watching this along with the '67 and '81 Spiderman series' on Netflix as well. My 3 year old son is a now a bonafied Spiderman fan.

the episode you are thinking of is called origin of the spiderfriends wwhich really should have been the first episode but i believe it wasnt aired until the third season.

Yes...the Origin of the Spider-Friends wasn't written or produced until after the 2nd Season I believe. It was just a flashback tale showing the fans how they met, apparently due to popular demand if the opening Narration by Stan Lee is correct.
