Great Addition to the Spider-Man Mythos!

Dont you agree, people criticise the series but it is aimed at Children. I Loved it and it made me a big fan of Spiderman. Why do people attack these shows for being childish when that is what they are made for.

reply

I haven't heard many people attack this series but yes it is definitly my favorite spiderman series .

reply

It deserves at least a 8 out of 10, why 5.1.

reply

Perhaps because it's not that good? Poor voice acting, repetitive storylines and lousy animation - even for it's time (heck, even the Care Bear cartoons of the early 1980s had better quality animation than this!) make this one to avoid in my view. The 1960s Spiderman cartoons with Paul Soles' voicing Spidey/Peter Parker were WAAAAYYY better than this rubbish

The chemistry between the spider friends was very real and they seemed very genuine in their affection for one another. That is one the reason I loved this series, yes you got the hokey episodes but watching the three heroes interact and cooperate with one another was worth the mind numbing plots and repetitive storylines. Also they were very creative with their power usage and humor was available in abundance.
It definitely should be higher than 5.3

This show was excellent. I think Spidy had great chemistry with his friends and the storylines weren't partonizing. I would love to have them all on DVD.

When I was 3 years old watching this show, it was the greatest thing ever!

This was the best spiderman cartoon growing up.

When I was 6/7 years old watching this series is was the greatest thing ever!

It was early eighties gold. Lots of good cheesy fun. Not as rich story wise as a show like Dungeons and Dragons but it had its moments.

Still got my fingers crossed, waiting for Judas Contract to get green-lit

I don't see anything wrong with it being a show aimed at kids. I used to love it when I was a very little kid, and I actually still enjoy checking it out from time to time, if for no other reason than nostalgia.

I quite liked the show when I was young, though prefer the original 60s series, and the concurrent "Spiderman" series that also came out in 1981. Is this series actually considered canon?

Perfection is boring - flaunt the imperfection!

Still holds up after all these years IMO.
