Comparing Police Squad to the Naked Gun movies

In my opinion, other than those things, it's pretty close. The jokes and gags might not feel as tight or concise but a lot of that comes from films having more time to hone and revise a script. I saw the movies first and expected the series to feel light a very primitive version, but it really nails that same absurdity. Much like the movies, the logic of the plot comes a distant second to the craziness.
