Joe Dante and the Bunny Statue

It's remarkable.

The first episode was not directed by Joe Dante, but the second (and another one) was.

However, it's in the first episode that we see a woman carrying a what seems to be a bunny statue or a bunny basket - it's hard to tell.

(It's after the shoe polisher scene, around 15 minutes in. It's after Drebin says: "I proceeded directly to the address Johnny had given me", when you can see the bright "Open 24 HRS" sign. You can see people carrying things on the street, and after awhile, a woman in a yellow bathrobe/raincoat/dress appears, carrying some sort of large bunny-object.)

Now, we all know that Joe Dante is somewhat nuts about bunnies, Bugs Bunny especially, and we know that he was involved with this TV show as well.

So my question is - could this be a coincidence, or is Joe Dante responsible for the bunny?
