I'm getting a bit nervous. Shout Factory announced that season three would be released shortly before season two was officially available for sale and that season four (out next week) would be released shortly before season three went on sale.
Now here we are just a week before season four is officially released and there is no word on season five.
Should we be worried?
When I saw the thread title, I hoped it would be news about a Season 5 release date.
I'm a little nervous about it. Seasons 6-8 had so many classic episodes, it would be a shame if they never get released. I really wish they would've just released the complete series at once like they did for Hill Street Blues and WKRP. Hopefully Shout is just waiting til next year, and not abandoning it all together.
Yeah, some of my favorite episodes are in seasons still to come on DVD. Since Shout Factory got seasons 2, 3, and 4 out in quick succession I'm still hoping for a fall 2014 release for season 5 and that maybe they will get 6, 7, and 8 out in 2015.
I would like to think that of SF has invested in the rest of the series they will get it out, but then again maybe they only paid for a few of the seasons to gauge interest.

I was thinking the same thing.
Not that any of us are complaining--we got Seasons 2-4 out in very quick order--but perhaps that has gotten us spoiled a little.
I also agree with the idea of the "Complete Series".... that is how all older shows should be sold, instead of a season at a time. Current shows have to do that, of course, but the older ones... well, I guess there is a COST factor as well. I am not sure I would have felt comfortable in purchasing the complete series if Dallas (14 seasons, 357 episodes) in one sitting.
On the Shout Factory Facebook page, in response to a suggestion about more Newhart seasons, their reply was "More on the way".

While a specific date has not been announced, Shout Factory has indicated that season five will be released in 2015.

Well hopefully they will follow through on that, although the vagueness of their reply certainly doesn't suggest it's a high priority for them. Wish they had just released the complete series like they did with "The Bob Newhart Show", rather than dole out the remaining seven seasons piecemeal.
