Did Harley die ?

Does anyone remember if the Harley character died on any episode? I'm going to have to find the episode in which it was said, but I think it was either Jim or Chester who said to Dick, " Don't you remember what they did at Harley's funeral?" I'm going to make a note regarding what episode that was mentioned in, but I vaguely remember Jim and Chester talking to Dick in the Stratford dining room.

I think George mentioned it to Dick in the episode when Dick wrote the murder mystery novel. George thought the Bolivian handyman in the book was based on him, and when Dick said the the character was a Don Juan ladies man George replied "Yeah, that's me. Remember what happened at Harley's wake."

Though I don't recall Harley dying in any episode.

Thanks. That's the quote I was refering to. I just found it odd that they bluntly would mention Harley's wake when there was no indication that he had died. They could have just as easily said,"Harley's birthday party" and it would have got the point across that George had done something crazy at a party without having to kill off a character. Well, I'm glad I didn't miss a Harley death episode.

Harley was one of my favorites, mainly as I wasn't working then and was terminally unemployed.

Depending on the order of the episodes, the name Harley could have just been used, then turned up later on with the actor to portray him.

Either that, or it was just determined to never bring Harley back again anyway.

I do recall more appearances of Harley tho.

There was an interview posted a few years ago online with the actor who played Harley, Jeff Doucette. He talks about the character being killed off, and some other anecdotes about the show.
