Season 7 Episode 14 The Nice Man Cometh

I have to admit I'm not a Newhart fan but watching Don Rickles really treat him like crap
in this episode was funny. The ending took me completely by surprise - The last thing I expected was to see Don Rickles kiss Bob Newhart full on the mouth <lauugh>
So anyway , why did he kiss him like that ? Anyone?
